Assay Ready vs. Continious Culture

The activation of the ARE/Nrf2 pathway in keratinocytes is one of the key events in the complex cascade of skin sensitization. For the evaluation of potential sensitizers, reporter gene cell lines such as KeratinoSens^® have been validated (OECD 442D), which express luciferase upon Nrf2 activation.

Assay Ready KeratinoSens^® Cells were qualified for the test in comparison with KeratinoSens^®cells from a continious culture. The reference skin sensitizer EGDMA did not reveal any altered sensitivity in terms of viability (blue) or Nrf2 activation (red).
